One year later while meditating on God’s Word, he felt God’s call to the ministry,
to preach and teach the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Rev. Day has a
tremendous burden for the lost, and it is his deepest desire that they come to
know Jesus as personal savior and experience the abundant life that He offers.
He also has a burden for God’s people that they may come to know Him fully
through the proper understanding of His Word.
Our Pastor

As the son of a Deacon and Sunday School
Superintendent, Pastor Day was very active in
the church throughout his youth.  However, it
was not until he left his home in New Orleans to
attend the University of Maryland that he came
to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal
savior in March 1977.
After serving at Riverdale Baptist
Church for seven years, he moved on
to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of
Lanham, MD, where he served as the
Senior Associate Pastor and Minister
of Education for seven years.
Reverend Day has served as Pastor of
Emmanuel Baptist Church for 19
years.  He is the former President of
the African American Advisory Council
to the Baptist Convention of
Maryland/Delaware.  He is the
Secretary of the National African
American Fellowship of the Southern
Baptist Convention.  Rev. Day is also
an active member of the Prince
George’s Baptist Association.
Rev. Day holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of
Maryland and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Capital Bible Seminary.

Rev. Day met his lovely wife Pamela while studying at the University of Maryland.
They have three children; two daughters Rochelle and Melissa and one son
David.
